The Jane Austen in Me

I am Marianne Dashwood!

Take the Quiz here!

Marianne Dashwood is a fictional character in the Jane Austen novel "Sense and Sensibility". The 17-year-old second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dashwood, she embodies the ‘sensibility’ of the title, as opposed to her elder sister Elinor’s ‘sense.’

Here are a few of this character's words of wisdom:

"It is not time or opportunity that is to determine intimacy it is disposition alone. Seven years would be insufficient to make some people acquainted with each other, and seven days are more than enough for others."

"I could not be happy with a man whose taste did not in every point coincide with my own. He must enter into all my feelings; the same books, the same music must charm us both. . . ."

Somehow I get the feeling you are not 100% happy with the result, or am I wrong?
I did the test some time ago and turned out to be Catherine Moreland.
I think we both should consider ourselves lucky, at least we are not of about 100.000 Elizabeth Bennetts. She is all over the place!

You are right, Rikki :) I like Jane Austen, she is one of the greatest female writers in English literature, but I don't really see myself as Marianne... I might start reading Austen again to check who I really am :))

Ohhh , I did the quiz a while ago, and guess what? I got the same result again!
"You are Catherine Morland of Northanger Abbey!"
Seeing how I haven't read the book I have no idea whether this could be true or not ;-) !

P.S.: Hey, Rikki! We seem to be Austen-twins :-D !!

I haven't read "Northanger Abbey" either, I guess we should all start (re) reading Austen, this time older and wiser :))
